Grand Hotel River Park is located in downtown Bratislava, directly on the banks of the river Danube and only a 35-minute drive from Vienna International Airport. Just 2 tram stops away from Bratislava city centre. It offers accommodations in luxurious rooms that has full fledge temperature controlled bathtub and boast its own separate rain-shower.
Hot mulled wine was served as welcome drink, I am totally digging holidays in Eastern Europe than Western Europe. The spacious rooms with proper amenities is just unparalleled to what the western europe hotels has to offer. Here you can choose panoramic views of the Danube River or the Bratislava castle hill. The room is equipped with a safety deposit box, a mini-bar, a flat-screen TV, free WiFi, air-conditioning and a rather large bathroom. Do take note that the window is sealed tight.
The hotel’s restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners and is located on the ground floor with the Danube promenade view. A lobby bar also offers a wine cellar where you can enjoy a small refreshment, both during the day and evening. I must say their inclusive breakfast was by far the most extensive through out any hotels I ever stayed in Easter Europe. I love a good local cheese board, bread selection and don’t forget the local sparkling wine to top off the lavish buffet breakfast spread. Plus there is ala carte menu to order from too! They even included a vegan corner, a true luxury gem in Bratislava.
Located on the 11th floor of the hotel is the prestigious Zion Spa Luxury offering views of the river and the surrounding countryside. As hotel guest you get to enjoy the features a humongous indoor pool, hot tubs, jacuzzi, saunas and a complimentary fitness area. Especially during the winter time, I could unwind here indoor and appreciate the warmth. The hotel’s uniqueness is underlined also by its own heliport on the rooftop and a private river pier.
AP Tips: City trips are common between Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. We recommend you extend your hotel stay here a tad bit longer particularly with this hotel, that way you can fully enjoy the perks and facilities of the hotel has to offer. What I am trying to say is, you can pay less for hotels in Vienna or Budapest but splurge on this one when you are in Bratislava. On most occasion, we don’t even have the time to indulge because we are out sightseeing.
